Peter Talks Acting

The Actor's Instrument Is His Body.

THE ACTOR'S INSTRUMENT IS HIS BODY

Are you working off the page or off your acting partner?

'DO' SOMETHING SO THAT I CAN ACT.

As actors we have to get it 'off the page' and 'onto the stage.' That's the challenge for the actor. If you allow it the other actor (your acting partner) will do half the acting for you.

Acting Methods & Techniques.

Why I No Longer Teach The Method.

ACTING METHODS & TECHNIQUES

Process. . . the need to remain fluid

Any acting method or technique needs to be constantly questioned every few years. What I teach now I didn’t teach 15 years ago. My process continues to evolve because I’ve worked with so many students over the years. The ultimate aim for the actor, regardless of which technique he/she uses, is:

“to live truthfully under the imaginary given circumstances”

A SEARCH FOR SIMPLICITY

Why I no longer teach THE METHOD

Having taught 'the method' and utilised it in my own work as an actor for over 18 years, I eventually dropped 'the method.' WHY? In this VIDEO I explain why.

Accept Yourself For Who YOU Are.

ACCEPT YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE

Acceptance is Key

Acceptance is key, it took me a very long time to understand this, to embrace myself for who 'I' am. This acceptance of oneself is paramount in life and in the life of an actor.

IT starts with YOU ~ the actoR
